BEING RELEVANT: How can social media drive in more growth for your business

Here’s a good ice breaker to remember — almost one third of the world’s population are considered to be active users of social media, which pretty much sums up that social media has indeed engaged the whole world, pandemic or no pandemic.

What does this mean for you as a business owner? Well, if you still haven’t tapped on to the social media bandwagon, chances are your customers have already chosen or will soon be picking your competitors over you.

Cheeky as it may sound, I can’t blame you if you are coming in late to the game. It is not like you just suddenly woke up and are now smelling the roses. No. What I do understand is that businesses today are having a hard time deciding on how to take advantage of social media. How do I make it work to my advantage?

Another observation that I have seen is that businesses are also having a hard time figuring out what is the most profitable social media strategy to use? The confusion is causing quite a delay and is serving as a big stumbling block towards their growth.

CREATE MORE TRAFFIC LEADING TO YOUR E-COMMERCE UNITS

A sound and effective social media strategy can drive in key traffic to today’s growing list of e-commerce stores. A lot of which is the result of paid ads posted across social media platforms. But that is not the whole secret there — you have to learn how to market your business in such a way that your targeted customer will want to buy and avail your product or service. Know your intended audience and offer them the killer offer — something they just can’t refuse.

KEEP YOUR AUDIENCE FULLY ENGAGED WITH MULTI-MEDIA OPTIONS

Here is another tip that businesses should fully embrace — barrage your target audience with lots of videos — the name of the game is to keep them constantly engaged and growing. Look around social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram and you will notice that the businesses that are not posting videos are also the businesses with a clearly unengaged audience. You wouldn’t want that.

OFFER VALUE — LOTS OF IT — THEN ASK FOR SOMETHING IN RETURN

Remember when I said earlier that you should present your customers with an offer they cannot refuse? Well, here’s one better idea — provide them with a large whopping amount of free value and then ask for a sale. How to do this? Provide users with content aimed at offering solutions to common day problems — which shows how you care about their welfare, even before asking them to buy or patronize your product or service. One key take away to this tip is that you are now building a massive loyal base of customers — the ones who will buy over and over again.

SHOWCASE UNIQUENESS

This one is pretty simple and obvious. Make sure you tell the world how different and unique you are from the competition. The name of the game here is your ability to differentiate yourself from the others. Make sure that you connect with your intended audience.
