When I usually sit down and speak to a business owner and explain to them the many benefits of having a social media strategy in place, I do not give that person a run-down list or try to sell them on something flowery.

I actually just tell that business owner to look at his right, his left and he will understand why. Chances are, if we are meeting at a local Tim Horton’s or Starbucks, this person will see that almost everybody around us would be locked on to looking at the screens of their gadget of choice.

It’s been said over and over, but let me just hammer it in for dramatic purposes of this article — social media has pretty much become a part of our everyday ongoings. We are so engrossed into it that recent studies have shown that we spend around two hours per day just surfing and reading through volumes of information available online.
